The annual Symposium "Architecture. Restoration. Archaeology", organised by the Association ARA together with The "Vasile Pârvan" Institute of Archaeology of The Romanian Academy and The Bucharest Municipality Museum, took place on Mai 9-11, 2024.
Impressive and vulnerable at the same time, the ruins, traces of what was an ars aedificandi of the past, generate fundamental questions. About how we see, how we think, how we research, how we preserve. These questions are part of the matrix of the cultural space in which we live. They are therefore marked by the current context, by the diversification of investigative tools and techniques, by the theoretical resettlement of the field of cultural heritage and its operative branch, restoration. They define the physiognomy of a dynamic society in the post-truth era, with a democratic edifice continually undermined and with fewer and fewer defenders.
