Guidelines for Contributors to ARA Reports
1) Text: use the font Times New Roman, 11 pt at 1.5. For the texts written in Greek use the font SuperGreek. The manuscript should not exceed 20 pages. The author should provide an abstract in the language of the text, together with a list of keywords. Romanian authors will also provide an abstract in Romanian.
2) Illustrations, plates and tables have to be numbered and referred to in the text as (Fig. 1), (Table 3). At the end of the text there should be a list of captions. All illustrations have to be submitted as single files in one of the formats JPG, TIFF, PDF, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
3) Citation Norms:
- the cited publications have to be mentioned in the footnotes in a short-form citation consisting of the author’s name and the year of publication (Oxford system, e.g.: Popescu 2006, pp. 26-34). These short citations are set out in full in a list of references at the end of the text.
- the number of the footnote has to be placed AFTER the punctuation sign.
4) The list of bibliography:
a) - article in journals: Initial of the name of the author, author's surname, title of the article with italics, journal's number, month, year o publication, pages. Example:
Petolescu 1981 - C.C. Petolescu, Cronica epigrafică a României (I, 1975-1980), SCIVA 32, 1981, 4, pp. 593-614 or Petolescu 1981 - C.C. Petolescu, SCIVA 32, 1981, 4, pp. 593-614
b) - contribution in volume:
Author's name (Initial of the name, surname), Title of the contribution, in: Initial of the name, surname (ed. or eds.), title of the volume, place of publication, year of publication, pages.
c) - book:
Author's name (Initial of the name, surname), Title with italics, place of publication, year of publication.
Example: Filitti 1919 - I.C. Filitti, Arhiva Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino, Bucureşti, 1919.
d) further abbreviations should be included in the individual list of bibliography only if not mentioned in the previous volume of ARA Reports.
5) Title of the article with capitals, name of the author, institution, e-mail or mail address (if the author does not have an e-mail address).
For citation of pages, figures and tables are to be followed the abbreviation rules corresponding to the language of the original text (ex. pp., Abb., Taf. etc).
Contributions are published in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish. Contributions in Romanian are only exceptions.
Contributions which are not following the minimal guidelines mentioned above will be returned to the authors.
