Cătălin I. Nicolae

The end of the 19th century, but especially the interwar period, are the periods in which the Romanian bourgeosie discovers Le Grand Tour, in its somewhat Balkan version, on the Constanța-Constantinople-Athens route.

Starting from some unique photographs of the Adamclisi monument that appeared on the local antiques market, we propose a short excursion among the photographic testimonies left by visitors to the monument in various periods, but also by those who ventured beyond the borders of Dobrogea, towards Constantinople and Athens.
